Campgrounds In Barnum Minnesota

Pitch a tent at one of Barnum's campgrounds.


Barnum, Minnesota, is in east-central Minnesota, approximately 35 miles south of Duluth. With plenty of lakes and rivers, wooded lots and gravel pits for rock collecting, the town offers visitors outdoor recreational activities. Whether you're traveling to Barnum to go hiking on the Willard Munger State Trail, collect agates at a rock quarry or go canoeing down the Moosehorn River, the city has several campground accommodations for visitors.


Bear Lake County Park


Operated by Carlton County, Bear Lake County Park is near the outskirts of Barnum. The campground features RV hookup sites, picnic areas, bathrooms, showers, a boat launch and a playground. While camping, visitors enjoy a variety of activities including swimming at the beach (lifeguards are on duty), fishing from the campground's dock or boating on Bear Lake. The campground is open mid-May through October and accepts reservations.

Bent Trout Lake Campground


Bent Trout Lake Campground has 100 campsites, 16 of which are tent sites. Amenities for campers include showers, electrical hookups and a dumping site. Because the campground is on the shores of Bent Trout Lake, guests can enjoy fishing, boating, swimming and other water sports, all accessible from the property. Other campground activities include relaxing in the sauna, going on a nature walk on the hiking trails or playing a game of horseshoe. A game room is available for teens and includes arcade games, a pool table and a jukebox. The campground is open from May to October.

Barnum City Park Campground


This small campground is operated by the city of Barnum. Barnum City Park has 10 campsites that are available with daily or weekly rates. Restrooms, picnic tables, a pavilion, a playground and volleyball courts make up the campground's amenities. The Moosehorn River runs through the campground and park, allowing campers to fish, canoe or wade into the water right from the campsite. Campers can also take a short walk to downtown Barnum to enjoy shopping and dining. Reservations are not accepted.
