Lithium is a commonly prescribed generic medication that is used to decrease the severity of manic episodes in individuals who suffer from bipolar disorder. The most popular brand versions of lithium are Eskalith and Lithobid. Lithium is well-known for producing several unpleasant side effects that make many patients not want to take it. Some individuals may also experience an allergic reaction to lithium.
Emotional Detachment
One of the side effects of lithium is a sense of emotional detachment from other people and the surrounding world. Some describe the sensation as feeling "slow."
Dry Mouth

Nausea
