Relieve Stress With Hand Warming Techniques

For those days when you experience a bit of bad stress and need to relax, meta physicists have found that warming your hands can produce a calming effect and give you a calming feeling. The following are only a few simple techniques that you can do just about anywhere and in a short period of time.

Instructions

At work

1. Heat up a cup of water or coffee and simply hold the mug for 10 minutes or so. If you are heating water, add an aromatic bag of tea such as peach, apple cinnamon or chamomile and inhale the fragrance.

2. Plug in a heating pad and set it to medium or medium high and wrap the heating pad around your hands. Do this for 10-15 minutes.

3. Heat up a microwaveable heating bag and place over your hands for 5 minutes. Switch the position of your hands and allow the other side to absorb the heat for 5 minutes. Keep the heating bag on top of your hands to get the full effect of the warm sensation.

4. Put on a pair of gloves and insert a short-term heating pack in each glove. This will allow you to keep working and get the heat therapy that you are seeking.

At home tips

5. Use any of the work steps above that you can in your home.

6. Use either plain warm water or a stress-relieving soak of your choice for a warm 20-minute hand soak. Epson salt is also a good ingredient to add to your hand bath.

7. Borrow a tip from the spas and use heated rocks. Soak a couple of flat rocks in hot water for 5 minutes. Carefully place the rocks on the back of your hands and relax while the heat from the rocks absorbs into your skin for 10 minutes. Reheat the stones and repeat the 10 minute process for your palms.
