A mole is a collection of pigment cells called melanocytes that are present in the skin. Moles are very common. In some rare cases, moles are due to a serious condition or disease like cancer or malignant melanoma. Moles typically develop in childhood, although they can appear at other stages of life. Some moles may disappear as you age, whereas others are permanent changes to the skin. Moles can develop on any part of the body and come in all shapes and sizes. There are products on the market today that can assist in removing unwanted moles without having to visit a doctor.
Ingredients
If you want to remove your mole on your own, you can purchase products that are all natural at your local markets or on the Internet. All of the removal products are made with ingredients that cause the skin to cauterize itself, making the mole form a scab and eventually fall off. With many of these products, there is a main ingredient used to remove the mole by inflaming the skin. This key ingredient is called Bloodroot. Although it is successful at removing the moles, it is a corrosive acid. Some products use a variety of plants or other ingredients--such as sea salts, Greater Celandine, Dimethyl Sulfoxide, zinc oxide, and liquid nitrogen (especially in those products used to remove warts as well). There aren't many variations to the ingredients that cause the mole to come off. However, each product has different methods of removing the mole at a faster rate than its competitors.
Time Frame
Some removal products are effective in one day, whereas others may take a week or longer for the mole to be completely removed. One product, Wart Mole Vanish, begins working during the first 20 minute application. Within 1 to 3 weeks, the mole falls off the skin. The Wart Mole Vanish kit comes with a number of objects to remove the moles, such as scraping needles, cotton swabs, vanishing cream, and antibacterial fluid.
Another brand, Dermatend, does not come with as many parts. In contrast to Wart Mole Vanish, Dermatend requires multiple applications of a cream to the mole for 3 days before it begins to work effectively. Dermatend is just a bottle of cream. In 7 to 10 days, the mole falls off the without leaving any scars and leaves behind only healthy tissue.
Prices
Although mole removal products are more affordable than getting moles surgically removed, they are not cheap. Their prices vary with each company. For example, Dermatend cost about $100 (and higher on some Websites); whereas Wart Mole Vanish is under $100. Prices may vary based on how fast the product is able to remove the mole...in addition to how many moles you are able to remove per kit. Some kits are more expensive than others because they also remove skin tags and warts as well.
Warning
Before using any mole removal product, it is advisable that you read what ingredients are in the particular brand that you purchase. Some ingredients are highly allergenic and can cause irritation to your skin. Because of the acidic nature of Bloodroot, it is capable of burning the skin, and it may cause swelling. Bloodroot is known to be quite painful as well. Using
Considerations
Although it may be more expensive, you may want to consider seeking out a doctor to remove the mole. Laser removal is similar to the natural products because of the cauterization of the skin for the mole to be removed. However, unlike the cream products that are available, there is no concern over tissue damage, burning, scarring, or allergic reactions. Some mole removal products claim to work, yet they are not effective at all. Laser, and surgical removals are done safely to ensure that you get the results that you are looking for without the unexpected complications.
