Identify the Signs of Meningitis in Toddlers

1. Take your child to his physician if he has any fever or vomiting. Although it can be a simple bug, it is also a sign of meningitis and it's better to be cautious.

2. Have your child seen by her physician if she experiences any headache or complains of pain in the neck area. Children aren't the best at describing their symptoms so this should be addressed by a doctor.

3. Take your child to the nearest emergency room if it is difficult or impossible to wake your child. This is one of the more serious signs and should be observed by a doctor immediately.

4. Go to the nearest emergency room if your child experiences seizures. This another of the serious signs and should be addressed as soon as possible by a health care professional.

5. Mention any rashes to your child's doctor. Although there are many causes of rashes and not all cases of meningitis report rash, it is nonetheless a sign and should be reported to your child's doctor immediately.
