Deal With Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are blood-sucking tiny insects of the family Cimicidae that are without wings and bite humans. They can live in furniture, in cracks and crevices and in bed mattresses and box springs. Recently, bed bugs are making a resurgence, probably due to the banning of pesticides like DDT that were used to kill them. Because they are small, bed bugs are easily unknowingly transported from place to place via clothing and can survive for several months without food.

Instructions

Treatment

1. Spread diatomaceous earth around areas of bed bug infestation. Dust the floor around the bed or furniture legs. Sprinkle a small amount under the mattress as well.

2. Spray infested materials with an enzyme solution like Kleen Free. Spray directly on bedding, clothing, furniture, carpet or flooring.

3. Spray bedding and flooring with the natural oil-based spray called Rest Easy to repel bed bugs.

4. Hire a professional exterminator to fumigate the entire house with the chemical Vikane.
