Signs Of Becoming An Alcoholic

Alcoholism is a progressive disease that gradually gets out of control and begins to affect many aspects of a person's life. It may start to affect her personal relationships, work life and personal safety. Every person is different and may not display the exact signs of alcoholism. The following is a list of common signs of alcoholism.


Lack of Control


Not being able to control how much one has to drink is a sign of alcoholism. A person may plan to drink a little but end up drinking much more.


Choice of Social Activities








Deliberately not participating in a social function because there won't be any alcohol could be a sign of alcoholism.


Lack of Emotional Control


Having a reduced ability to control displays of emotion is a sign of alcoholism.


Sleep Problems








Some alcoholism signs related to sleep are sleeping too much or not being able to sleep.


Putting Self in Danger


A person may be an alcoholic if his drinking puts him in dangerous situations like driving under the influence or unusual and otherwise undesired sexual behavior.
