Treat Phlegm With Home Remedies

Phlegm is thick mucus that forms in your throat and sinuses, usually due to allergies or colds. It can result in a stuffy nose or a nasty, annoying cough. It is important to treat phlegm right away, or it can settle into your chest and cause a bad upper respiratory infection that may require hospitalization. Phlegm is disgusting, uncomfortable and unsightly. Use effective home remedies to treat it and breathe easy again.

Instructions

1. Add a pinch of white pepper to 1 tsp. of raw honey. Take this twice a day for 5 days to dry up phlegm and eliminate a cough.

2. Mix 2 tbsps. of honey with an equal amount of grape juice and take this three times a day for 5 days. The grape juice acts as an expectorant to eliminate phlegm.

3. Juice an onion and a lemon together and combine the juice with 1 cup of boiling water. Add raw honey to taste and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Drink the entire cup of juice in one sitting. Make this drink three times a day for 2 to 3 days to eliminate phlegm.

4. Boil a handful of mint leaves and a handful of eucalyptus leaves together in a large pot filled with water. Once the water in the pot reaches boiling, remove it from the heat and lean over it with a towel draped over your head. Inhale the vapors from the water. The vapors will open up your sinuses and dry up mucus.

5. Cut a lemon in half. Sprinkle one half of the lemon liberally with salt and black pepper. Suck on this half of the lemon, and it will dry up mucus and reduce the severity of a cough.
