Ringworm Homemade Remedy

Ringworms are not actually a worm but a fungus infection that grows on the skin, scalp, and even nails. Several things can cause ringworms, such as combs, pools, and clothes that have not been washed once contaminated. The contamination can also come from pets since they can carry the fungus. The ringworm is contagious and it can be transferred directly or indirectly. Below are some home remedies that you can try to get rid of the ringworm.

Raw Papaya

Peel or slice the papaya and rub the fruit on the infected area. Follow this procedure two to three times a day until the ringworm has gone away. You can also take the seeds of the papaya, preferably dried out, and mash them into a paste to be applied to the ringworm.

Vegetable Juice and Spinach

Try mixing vegetable juice with the juice from spinach. Any type of vegetable juice should work but it's suggested that carrot juice works the best. If you can't find spinach juice, use the juice from the canned spinach. Another option is to buy some fresh spinach, boil it in water and drain it. Let the water cool and mix this with any vegetable juice.

Tea Tree Oil

This is one of the most common remedies for ringworm. Apply the tea tree oil to the area that has the ringworm and continue to do this for at least 30 minutes. Only use lukewarm water for washing. This procedure can be done everyday, two to three times a day up to two weeks. You can find Tea Tree Oil in your local drug, department, or natural herb store.

Mustard Seed

Grind up some mustard seeds until it reaches the consistency of a powder. Add a small amount of water to form a paste and apply it to the infected area once your arm has been washed with very warm to hot water.

Allow the paste to dry completely, then remove the dried paste and wash the area with cool water. Pat dry with a soft towel. You can continue this procedure everyday until ringworm has disappeared.

Castor Oil

Castor Oil is a good remedy in getting rid of the ringworm patch. Rub the castor oil on the infected area. You can repeat this as many times a day as you like. Within two to three days, you should notice a difference in the ringworm and it shouldn't be too long before you see the ringworm completely gone.

Although you can take castor oil orally, I would think most would want to use it as a topical. When massaging the oil into the infected area, make sure to massage in the same continuous direction of the lymph drainage pattern.
