The position of Mars on the astrological chart is the clearest way to determine kuja dosha.
Kuja dosha, also known as mangal dosha, is an astrological condition that is considered a negative omen, especially for a marriage, by many practitioners of astrology. The potential spouse with kuja dosha in his natal chart is considered a "manglik." Qualities attributed to a manglik include harsh speech and excessive energy. Believers reason that a manglik should only marry another manglik, the idea being that two negatives should cancel each other out.
Instructions
1. Determine your birth data. This comprises the date, time and place of your birth. If you don't have all of this information, you can still learn about your sign, but determining kuja dosha status requires a significant level of precision.
2. Visit a website that allows you to calculate your astrological chart. Calculating the chart yourself is rather difficult and requires a good deal of expertise, but the Internet abounds with free astrology sites whose chart calculators are easy to use. An example is astrologycom.com/chartcalc.html. Input your birthdate, birth time and birthplace into the corresponding fields, and hit "next."
3. Mouse over the sign that looks like the symbol for the male gender, a circle with an arrow extending from it. This is the sign for Mars. When you click it, an information window will appear. Scroll down to the heading, "Mars in House X." The proceeding text should tell you which house Mars is in under your sign.
4. If Mars is the second, fourth, seventh, eighth or 12th house, many astrological authorities diagnose kuja dosha status. However, there are various exceptions. Leo and Aquarius signs are exempt. Other signs are exempt in certain houses; in Cancer and Capricorn, for example, Mars in the seventh house does not designate kuja dosha.
