Laundry detergent bottles can quickly become plentiful in any household. It isn't safe to use detergent bottles for storing food, but they're perfect for many of the down-and-dirty types of jobs that take place in the garage.
Instructions
1. Store old rags. The large base of your leftover laundry detergent container can be repurposed as a rag bin. Saw off the top of the bottle and use the base as a bin. If you wish, screw it to a wood shelf in your garage shelves. If you have a larger detergent bottle you can turn it on its side and nail into the wall and use as a wall bin.
2. Dispense liquids. Laundry detergent bottles fitted with a spigot are handy for dispensing other fluids you use frequently in the garage. From paint thinner to tap water for clean up, an old laundry detergent bottle can be recycled to dispense useful garage fluids. Label the bottle clearly with its contents. Clearly mark any toxic or flammable contents.
3. Use the bottle as a funnel. Cut off the base of your laundry and sand the edges to soften them. Use the clean laundry detergent bottle as a funnel -- with a convenient handle -- for auto maintenance projects or other liquid disposal.
