Regrow Hair Quickly

Hair typically grows less than a half-inch per month

Regrowing hair can seem like a slow and arduous process, particularly following an unappealing haircut. While there are no easy solutions for stimulating rapid hair growth, growth can be nurtured through balanced nutrition and gentle grooming habits. Avoiding unnecessary stress to the hair follicles from over-brushing or harsh chemical processing will support healthy growth. Though there are no magic pills or shampoos to quickly grow out an undesirable hairstyle, normal growth can be encouraged through healthy habits.

Instructions

1. Correct any nutritional deficiencies that could be connected with hair loss. Hair loss can be caused by many factors, including poor nutrition. Ensuring that a diet is nutritionally sound can promote general health and hair growth. While there are no "super foods" that can directly lead to hair growth, fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, which are a critical component of general health and well-being. Check with your physician for a recommendation on a safe multivitamin supplement. Eat a balanced diet that includes plenty of protein, fruits and vegetables.

2. Stimulate your scalp. Gently massaging the scalp for a few minutes daily can encourage healthy blood flow to the scalp. So feel free to put your hands and fingers in your hair, but watch how much you put your brush through. Unnecessary brushing can actually lead to damage and breakage which can cause hair to appear thinner and shorter.

3. Spoil your hair. While moisturizing shampoos and conditioners do not stimulate growth or repair existing damage, they can prevent further damage to hair that can cause thinning or split ends. Incorporate a moisturizing conditioner into your daily routine. You may also be shampooing your hair too frequently. Check with your stylist for a recommendation on shampooing frequency for your hair type. Also ask for advice on weekly or biweekly deep-conditioning treatments.

4. Avoid processing hair with heat and chemicals whenever possible. If your hair is subjected to straightening or blow-drying on a daily basis, consider switching to a natural style several days a week or on days off from work. Change the heat setting on the blow-dryer to low heat. Check with your stylist about a heat-protecting spray or mousse that can shield hair from heat damage. Avoid unnecessary chemical processes, especially lightening hair with bleach, which can cause significant damage to growing hair.
