Deal With a Hated Job
There comes a time in most peoples' lives when they have to work at a job that they hate. Since it's not fiscally responsible to quit a job without finding another one first, these steps will help you to deal with a hated job until that better one comes along.
Instructions
1. Think about why you took the job in this first place. Maybe it was because they had great benefits or good pay. Maybe you had no other choice and you had to pay the bills.
2. Daydream about your reasons for staying at the hated job. It could be because you have a family that you love and need to support or because you have a vehicle that you have worked hard to get and would like to keep it from being repossessed.
3. Allow yourself to feel the way that you do about your job. You don't need to feel guilty about how much you hate your job. There's a good reason behind it.
4. Personalize your cubicle or office space to make the day more bearable. Hang up pictures that remind you of why you're working there or pictures of places you'd rather be.
5. Decide what you really want from a job so that when you find another one you're not stuck in the same situation of trying to deal with a hated job.
6. Actively seek a new job that you might hate less and spend time practicing how you're going to quit the hated job when the time comes.
7. Pretend you're getting paid to hate the job and take pride that you're doing so well at it. This may help you have a more positive attitude and make the job more tolerable.
