Bachelor's Degree
While many acupuncture schools do not require a bachelor's degree for application, you should have at least two years of undergraduate study under your belt. Be advised, however, that some schools demand a bachelor's degree as a minimum, along with some course work related to Eastern or Western medicine.
Master's Degree
A master's degree is not necessary to pursue your education in acupuncture. Several colleges and trade schools offer master's degrees in acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
Tuition
Fees for acupuncture education differ from program to program. Some degrees can be obtained in just a few months, while others take three to four years.
Accreditation
Finding an accredited school is vital to a career in acupuncture. The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine provides a list of accredited schools.
Licensing
Once you have graduated from an accredited acupuncture program, you will have to take a state-administered exam to become licensed. Criteria for licensing vary from state to state.
