Chinese Remedy For Post Nasal Drip

Post nasal drip is a condition that occurs in your nose and throat; it is characterized by the formation of excess thin and/or thick secretions in your nose. The excessive secretions drip into your throat and can cause a sore throat, difficulty swallowing and coughing. The condition can be caused by many factors including a cold, flu, allergies, temperature changes, spicy foods, hormonal changes, sinusitis, dry air and the consumption of dairy products. There are some Chinese remedies that can help you alleviate post nasal drip.

Diagnosis and Treatment

See a doctor if post nasal drip has become a long-term problem, or if the symptoms associated with the condition are causing upper respiratory issues and complications with swallowing. Determine the cause of your post nasal drip with an examination of your ears, nose and throat. You may need blood tests or X-rays. Your post nasal drip may require prescription antibiotics to treat the underlying condition, and you may be prescribed decongestants and antihistamines for the treatment of allergies.
