Online Meditation Techniques

Lanterns and candles can be used during meditation.

Meditation can be powerful, as it can help relieve stress and relax our bodies. Clearing the mind of loud thoughts and replacing them with simple, positive ones can help make a huge difference in our day. Many online resources provide meditation techniques to help ease and clear the mind, while making us aware of surroundings. These techniques can be practiced anywhere and provide relief after a long stressful day.

I Am Meditation Technique

I Am is a meditation technique used to recognize that what we see, hear, taste and feel is only temporary. Life situations that may be difficult to face, such as an argument or problem at work, can be eased by realizing that these situations are only brief moments in life. Most difficult situations or experiences are hardly permanent and will pass; the current situation may not define the full spectrum of the individual. This type of meditation can done at home or at work, whenever a hectic moment presents itself.

Healing Meditation Technique

The healing meditation technique is used to help heal problem areas within the body and the mind. The individual sits quietly and imagines a beam of light moving through his body, beginning with the feet. Visualize the beam of light slowly moving up the legs, torso, arms, fingers, neck and head, while slowly relaxing the body. Once it has reached the head, visualize the beam of light exiting the eyes and radiating outward. Then visualize the beam of light entering the problem areas of the body that are causing pain and slowly relaxing them as well. This meditation can be done for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the body to release any existing tension.

Kind for a Day Meditation Technique

Kind for a day is a mediation technique that permits individuals to become aware of the world outside their own. Although this form of meditation doesn't require sitting and relaxing the mind, it does help set aside selfishness and focus attention on another person. Individuals select someone who is close to them and reflect on that person's life, problems she may face and how the world is viewed through her eyes. Acts of kindness, such as making her favorite dish and listening to her thoughts, can give that person a sense of her importance in the lives of others. When the day is done, you can select a different person for the next day and think of new methods to celebrate that person.
