Deal With Wedding Stress

It can be the happiest day of your life, the most stressful, or anywhere in between depending on the measures you take to prepare yourself, the guests and the setting for your wedding. Fortunately, it's easy to get around that stress. Just follow these simple instructions to deal with wedding stress.

Instructions

1. Start planning as soon as you can. Even though the date might seem like it's way down the line, the earlier you make reservations and guest lists, the sooner you can put it out of your mind and focus on having fun.

2. Share responsibilities. When it comes to planning a wedding, it almost always takes a village. Take advantage of people's willingness to help out by allowing them to run errands or make reservations for you to relieve some stress from your shoulders.

3. Set goals, write them down and stick to them. If you say you want to have a particular part of the wedding finished and planned by a particular date, you're more likely to do so if you physically write it down on paper. Don't get buried in the planning of your wedding.

4. Remind yourself that it's a celebration of the union between you and your future spouse and will be a happy event to plan and to participate in.

5. Hire a professional. This can mean either seeing a therapist occasionally or hiring a professional wedding coordinator to relieve more directly your wedding stress. Whichever the case, it's not uncommon to need a little extra help during this chaotic time.
