Holistic Cures For Liver Cancer

According to the American Liver Foundation, approximately 80 percent of all liver cancer cases are due to cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is usually a result of alcohol abuse and Hepatitis C. Individuals who are obese, smoke and have Hepatitis B are at a higher risk for developing cirrhosis. Often times, noticeable symptoms of liver cancer do not develop until the later stages of the cancer. However, in addition to medicinal treatments, there are some holistic aids in battling this disease.

Acupressure

Acupressure is an alternative form of treatment similar to acupuncture and other energy work, and it can be beneficial in chemotherapy. Unlike acupuncture, there are no needles being used with acupressure, but rather pressure points with the practitioner applying pressure to specific areas of the body. It can also stimulate the immune system. Acupressure is often times used in combination with herbal supplements, such as Ageless Herbs, which has liver-supporting herbs. Meditation can be used in conjunction with acupressure and herbal supplements to help with liver cancer. In fact, individuals who practice meditation daily typically live longer, healthier lives and also experience anti-aging benefits with the practice. Meditation doesn't take very long and is something that can be learned and practiced almost anywhere. It may take some amount of practice at first, but eventually the practitioner will get the hang of it and will benefit from regular daily meditation.

Acupuncture

According to traditional Chinese medicine, different emotions are linked to various medical conditions and cancer. Someone who is angry all the time may develop liver cancer. Acupuncture has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for the past 5,000 years. Ultra-thin sterilized needles are inserted into very specific locations throughout the body. According to Hepatitis Central, an increasing number of surgeons are recognizing that acupuncture therapy may help reduce the quantity of drugs needed for general anesthesia and can improve the patient's post-surgical recovery process.

Diet Treatment

The diet should be limited by quantity and quality. The cancer cells will absorb the nutrition from all of the food that you consume. That being said, it's a safe assumption that following a small diet of anti-cancer foods may be very beneficial. Cancer cells reproduce faster than normal cells do. That means the cells will die faster too. Some guidelines and recommendations for a cancer-friendly diet include avoiding sugar, eating little to no meat (or, if you must eat meat, stick with fish), eat tofu, beans, eggs, nuts and mushrooms, avoid cold or bitter foods and do not eat foods that create damp cold or damp heat.
