What Does A Chiropratic Assistant Do

Chiropractic assistants perform a variety of functions.

Chiropractic assistants perform a variety of duties that are mostly clerical. These professionals can, however, have more specialized roles depending on the size of the office, and are often involved in all aspects of administrative functions.

Office Work

Chiropractic assistants maintain and organize patient records and maintain office inventory. At times, they also perform accounting functions including tracking expenditures, dealing with workers compensation insurance and invoicing patient bills.

Front Desk

Maintaining contact with patients throughout the treatment process is an important responsibility of chiropractic assistants. They schedule appointments, take messages, communicate problems, greet patients, answer telephones, and deal with all payments and insurance related issues.

Medical Help

Chiropractic assistants perform medical functions including helping the patients fill out medical history forms and maintaining any special notations of patient requests or questions. They also clean and prepare patient treatment rooms and ensure that both the doctor and the patient have everything physically required for a successful appointment or consultation.
