Moles are a normal part of human skin. Most people have moles somewhere on their bodies. They can be raised or flat, darker than the person's skin or the same color. But when they gain color and become unsightly, many people look for inexpensive ways to get rid of them. Surgery can be expensive and leave scars behind, but there are many other options.
Instructions
1. Get a doctor to freeze the mole with liquid nitrogen. This kills the mole's blood vessels and eventually causes the mole to fall off, though it can be days before it falls off. It can also lave a scar where the mole fell off and is not recommended for more than one mole on any given area of the body.
2. Visit a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who will remove the mole with a laser. This is done by deadening the feeling in the area with a local anesthetic and then focusing the laser on the entire surface of the mole. This is an effective way to get rid of small, flat moles. Larger ones and ones that are thicker than the surrounding skin are not recommended for laser removal.
3. Buy an over-the-counter remedy to get rid of the mole. There are a number of natural ingredients, such as bloodroot, that are effective at getting rid of moles at home. Some of these products contain acids that burn the mole slowly over time. It can take weeks of regular use of a mole-removal product to see the best results. Over-the-counter products include Dermatend Mole Remover and Forces of Nature Moles No More.
4. Use a prescription mole-removal product. While this option may be more expensive than the over-the-counter products, prescription creams and acids are generally stronger and may cut the time it takes to get rid of the mole.
