Acupuncture is the ancient Chinese practice of healing someone by inserting small needles into specific parts of the body to help channel and release certain toxins or energies. There are a number of different schools that teach the practice of acupuncture online, allowing people to learn the basics of this ancient medicinal practice from the comfort of their own homes.
Mebo TCM and Acupuncture
Mebo TCM and Acupuncture offers an online training program that covers many courses in the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) field, ranging from basic theories to actual hands-on clinical experiences. Teachings from the course are provided by actual clinicians who are licensed in the practice of acupuncture and eastern medicine. There are a wide variety of courses taught online through Mebo TCM and Acupuncture, ranging from an introductory course about the practice of acupuncture to six clinical cases of multiple sclerosis which were treated with acupuncture to theories about treating a myriad of other disease through acupuncture. This online program is co-sponsored by the China Academy of Chinese Medicine Sciences (CACMS) and the Beijing Mebo TCM Training Center.
UniversalClass
At UniversalClass, which teaches online courses covering a variety of different topics, acupuncture classes are taught online, from the basics to the application of needles to the theories behind how acupuncture actually works on people's health. There are 13 different course lessons which can be taken online and some focus on different parts of the body, showing where and why certain needles should be applied and how they help cure or alleviate different ailments. After graduating from this course with an overall test score of 70 percent or higher, UniversalClass will mail you a certificate. UniversalClass does state, however, that its acupuncture courses are for personal enrichment only and are not substitutes for training required by state authorities for work and licensure as an acupuncturist.
Acupuncture School Online
Acupuncture School Online is a website with a collection of knowledge, online courses, advice, articles and testimonials from people who have studied or worked with acupuncture for years. While this is not a formal school charging tuition for coursework, it is a free guide to the world of acupuncture so that people can learn about it on their own. There are lessons in acupuncture techniques, explanations of acupuncture points and reviews of acupuncture equipment. There are also lessons on different types of acupuncture, such as cosmetic acupuncture, which has been growing in popularity recently.
