Use Social Networking To Lose Weight

One of the most important aspects of weight loss is keeping in contact with others who are losing weight, also known as the buddy system. When there are others who are in tune with your weight loss ups and downs, and are waiting for your responses, you are more likely to lose that weight and keep it off.

Instructions

1. Select a diet plan that appeals to you. When choosing the plan, find a social networking site filled with people who are tried and true with the methods of the plan. Many social networking sites will be aimed at a specific diet plan. No matter whether you choose Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Atkins or some other diet, there are networks of people to help you along the way.

2. Register for the site. Too many people simply browse through the weight-loss forums and social networks looking for tips. This is not the right way to approach the idea behind social networking and weight loss. You have to be a part of the community to build friendships and relationships to help you along the way.

3. Use the tools. Many online social networks aimed at weight loss will offer tools to help you lose weight. These tools may include, but are not limited to, food diaries, blogs, forums and question and answer areas. Using all of these tools along the way will help you to keep track of the food going in and the weight coming off.

4. Blog often. You need to keep track of how you are feeling every day, and you need to get rid of that plateau stress when it comes along. Blogging through your social network is a great way to keep things social. Again, the buddy system will only work if you are a PART of the community. Reading the posts will not create friendships.

5. Help others. After you have lost the weight you set out to lose, stay on the social network to help others. You can offer hints, tips and tricks along the way to those who are just beginning the journey to lose weight.
