Premenopausal Symptoms In Younger Women

Premenopausal symptoms can happen at any age. Even women in their early thirties can experience these symptoms. There are no treatments to stop this process, and eventually a woman's reproductive years end. Perimenopause is the proper medical term for this condition. The levels of estrogen change during this time, and this results in various symptoms that affect women in different ways.

Irregular Periods

Menstrual cycles become heaver, lighter, longer or shorter. Periods are more frequent or stop entirely for a few months.

Night Sweats and Hot Flashes

Sweating at night is a sign of hot flashes. Also, hot flashes can occur at any time, and the duration varies.

Changes in Mood

A woman can become more emotional during perimenopause with mild or severe depression, irritability and anxiety.

Sleeping Problems

A woman may have problems getting to sleep or sleeping through the night. Having night sweats can interfere with sleeping habits.

Vaginal Problems

Vaginal lubrication can decrease, and the vaginal tissues can become less elastic. This may result in pain during sex. As the estrogen levels decrease, the chances of vaginal infections increase.

Bladder Problems

Lower hormone levels can also lead to bladder infections. The change in the elasticity of vaginal tissues may lead to bladder incontinence.
