Elegant White Centerpiece Ideas

Whether your centerpiece is for a wedding, a shower or some other event, you want it to look sophisticated. White is a simple color that will help you accomplish that look. Various white flowers will work for your centerpiece, as well as using a few other accessories, to give you the ideal, elegant white centerpiece.

Wild Flowers

Fill a vase with some white wild flowers. With a wide variety of wild flowers, you can choose from Queen Anne's Lace, daisies, trillium and others. The wild flowers you use depend on the time of year of your event. Put the white flowers in white vases. If you use a white milk glass vase, it will keep the centerpiece simple and country like, yet regal at the same time. You can add a white ribbon either to tie around the vase or to tie around the stems of the flowers in the vase. Let long tails of the ribbon hang down and lay across the table for added flair. You can use a white ribbon that has a little bit of gold or yellow in it, especially if any of your wild flowers have a little touch of color, such as the yellow center of the daises.

Roses and Lace

Use white roses and lace to make a gorgeous centerpiece. You can leave the stems of the roses long and put them in a traditional vase, or cut them short and put them in a bowl. Use a clear bowl so that you do not detract from the roses. Add white stones to the vase or bowl of water to enhance the roses and cover up unsightly stems if you desire. Incorporate some lace into the roses by using strips of lace ribbon. Or cut a square of larger lace, and use it as a mat underneath the vase or bowl of roses. Add a battery-operated short strand of white lights if you want to add light to your rose and lace centerpiece. If you can find them, especially around Easter time, place a pair of little girl's lace gloves at the base of the vase of roses to add a Victorian look to your centerpiece.

Candlelight

Do not think that all centerpieces have to be flowers. You can add candlelight to evening affairs. For this project you want to use a tall, clear glass vase. Use one that you can easily stick your hand in to place and remove a candle. You will need some frosted white craft paper and some decorative punches. Create a design, and use the the punches to transfer the design to the paper. You will have to use double-sided tape to attach the paper to the candle jars or vases. The light from the candles goes through the punched design in the paper and makes a lovely centerpiece for any event.
