Use Progesterone Cream For Heavy Bleeding

Women who are entering perimenopause find that their menstrual cycles undergo many changes, including changes in the amount of bleeding. This is due to the shifting balance of hormones. Women who experience estrogen dominance during perimenopause may find that their uterine lining builds more thickly during the follicular phase of their cycle, resulting in heavier bleeding at menstruation. Applying a natural progesterone cream can help to counterbalance the estrogen dominance that causes heavy bleeding. It can also be used to treat bleeding associated with endometriosis, a condition in which endometrial cells that would normally line the uterus grow in other areas such as the fallopian tubes and on the ovaries.

Instructions

1. Start applying bioidentical progesterone cream 10 days after the first day of your last menstrual period. If you are treating bleeding from endometriosis, being applying the cream eight days after your last menstrual period.

2. Apply 1/4 tsp. of progesterone cream daily to an area such as your arm, belly or thigh. If the progesterone treatment is for endometriosis, increase the dose to 3/4 tsp. Change areas frequently to aid absorption.

3. Stop applying the cream on the last day before your expected period. The withdrawal from progesterone will bring on menstruation. The first day of your menstrual period is considered Day 1 of the next cycle.
