Neurofeedback, also called EEG biofeedback, uses a monitoring device called a Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) to map brain activity and help people learn to consciously regulate their brain rhythms.

How it Works
In a neurofeedback session, sensors attached to the head read brain activity. The patient watches a screen and/or listens to sounds that correlate with his brain activity. If watching a screen, the patient uses her brain activity to move the characters on the screen, thus learning to change unwanted brain rhythms. Also, by listening to music or peaceful sounds that represents his brain activity, a person's baseline brainwave can, over time, become closer to ideal.
