Home Remedy For Eye Lid Wrinkles

Wrinkles are usually a part of the aging process. But when the creases occur on or around the eyelids, they can be a sign of exhaustion, stress, being overweight or losing lots of weight quickly, exposure to very hot climates and the depletion of vitamin E in the body. Wrinkles around the eyelids can also cause the eyelids to sag. Fortunately, there are a few remedies you can try at home to erase those crinkles on your eyelids.

Effectiveness of Home Remedies

Some home remedies for wrinkles on the eyelids do exist, although there is little medical evidence to prove the success of these methods. Home remedies for eyelid wrinkles are usually easy to apply and have few side effects, so it can't really hurt to give them a try. However, as with most home remedies and anti-aging programs, it may take some time to see positive results.

Home Remedies

It is important to stay well hydrated, as dry skin is one of the causes of wrinkles on and around the eyelids. Home Remedies for You suggests that you may be able to reduce or eliminate eye wrinkles by drinking at least 10 glasses of water and lots of fresh fruit juices every day.

In addition to staying hydrated, apply coconut oil or pure and odor-free castor oil under the eyelids, making circular motions. You can also apply almond oil, crushed mint or a freshly peeled potato under the eyes. Cucumber, too, has qualities that nourish dry skin. Grate and mix it with plain yogurt, then apply this to the wrinkles. Finally, try a paste of turmeric and pineapple or sugarcane juice, applied to the affected area.

Vitamin E

Because low levels of vitamin E in the body are a culprit that leads to wrinkles in the eyelids, try a vitamin E supplement. You can also empty the contents of three vitamin E capsules and mix the oil with 2 tsp. of plain yogurt and 1/2 tsp. each of lemon juice and honey. Apply the mixture topically, directly on the eyelid wrinkles.

Other Options

In addition, try these options: getting a regular skin massage, exercising, sleeping well for about eight hours each night and avoiding overexposure to harmful UVA rays. And if you smoke or drink excessive amounts of alcohol, quitting these two bad habits can also help reduce eye lid wrinkles.
