Combine Aesthetics & Facial Massage

A facial mask helps to deep clean the pores during a facial.

Esthetics and massage make for an excellent combination when caring for the skin. A massage can soothe muscles while deep cleaning pores with the use of the right skin care products. An individual can benefit from a massage in many ways. According to the mayoclinic.com, a massage can help to alleviate stress, manage blood pressure, provide pain relief and aid in the relief of anxiety and depression. Treat yourself or yourself or your clients to the delightful experience of massage combined with aesthetics.

Instructions

1. Use a cream cleanser to deep clean the face before beginning a facial. A creamy, emollient cleanser works best when beginning a facial because it helps to remove dirt, makeup, and sebum from the face. Rub a dime-sized amount of product between the palms to warm the product before applying it to the client's face. Start at the chin and work in soft, upward strokes. Make circular motions on the cheeks. Always use upward movements that work against the pull of gravity.

2. Wipe off the cleanser with a moist, warm towel. A warm towel will help to open the pores of the face and prepare the skin to receive a deep cleansing facial. Apply a deep cleansing mask to the face. To give it a very "spa-like" touch, use a fan brush to apply the mask. While the mask is on, a facial steamer can be placed near the face to help to further open up and deep clean the pores. Leave the mask on for ten to fifteen minutes.

3. Wipe off the mask with a warm towel. Be thorough, as it is easy to leave behind small traces of a facial mask on the skin. Apply a dime-sized amount of moisturizer. Add a drop of jojoba, coconut, or almond oil to begin the massage portion of the facial and add slippage to the skin.

4. Place the index and middle finger on the temples of the forehead and make small, circular movements. Move to the middle of the forehead and repeat this step while working across the forehead. Place your index fingers above each eyebrow and use light pressure to circle the eye sockets. Make a circular motion that goes around the outer corner of the eye and makes its way upward towards the inner corner of the eye. Repeat the circular motion five to seven times. This step can feel very good, especially for those with sinus problems.

5. Place your index and middle fingers on the center of the chin. Make light, upward strokes circling around the mouth and ending at the top of the lips in the center. Repeat this upward, circular motion five times. This will help to massage the area and provide a subtle "lift" to the area. Place your index and middle fingers slightly away from the center of the chin and make upward movements towards the cheeks. Massage underneath the cheekbone towards the ear. Repeat five times.
