Symptoms Of Arm Bone Cancer







Each year in the United States, there are about 2,000 people diagnosed with bone tumors. The bone tumors form more often in young children rather than older adults. Cancer that begins in the bones is primary bone cancer. The most common types of bone cancer start in the arms and legs.

Osteosarcoma


Osteosarcoma is the most common type of bone cancer. It mainly attacks young males between the ages of 10 and 25. Osteosarcoma begins in the ends of bones where new bone tissues form.


Ewing's Sarcoma


Ewing's sarcoma occurs in young people between the ages of 10 and 25. This cancer affects the shaft or middle part of large bones in the upper arm.


Pain


Each person experiences different symptoms. Most of it depends on the location, size and type of cancer. Pain is the the most universal symptom of arm bone cancer. The pain gradually increases in severity over time.


A Lump or Mass


Sometimes you can feel a lump or mass. This mass is felt on tissues that surround the bone, or on the bone itself.


Other Symptoms


Other symptoms begin as the cancer spreads to other parts of the body. These include night sweats, chills, fever and weight loss.
