Social cues and skills training is built into each day's activities. For example, during mealtimes, students are taught proper table manners, engage in polite table conversation and enjoy food in a socially acceptable way.
Faculty/Staff
Faculty and staff who have direct contact with, and responsibility for, the therapeutic/academic progress of the children have specialized education and training. Life coaches are also staff members.
Certification
Boarding schools should have accreditation and certification which indicates their programs meet state and federal standards. Parents must ask about accreditation at each boarding school they visit.
