Stop Recurring Yeast Infections







A yeast infection causes irritation, itching and soreness in the vaginal area and quite often, this type of infection is both uncomfortable and unpleasant for women. Yeast infections are very common and many women get this type of infection at least once during their lifetime. However, when a woman has multiple yeast infections during a one year span, this is known as recurring yeast infections. In order to stop recurring yeast infections, you need to find out what is causing the infection. Overall, there are a few things that you can do to stop recurring yeast infections.


Instructions


1. Call your doctor for an appointment. If you are suffering from recurring yeast infections, you must visit your doctor in order to find out the exact reason for the problem.


2. Go to your appointment and meet with your doctor. Your doctor will ask you questions about your symptoms, current health status, lifestyle behavior and diet. She may talk to you about the most common reasons for yeast infections, such as stress, poor diet (like eating a lot of sugary foods), taking birth control pills, antibiotics or steroids, hormonal imbalances, pregnancy, having a weakened immune system, lack of sleep, wearing the wrong type of clothing and using scented douches or feminine hygiene products.


3. Complete the required medical tests. Your doctor will give you a physical examination and pelvic exam. The doctor may also examine a sample of your discharge under a microscope. In addition, your doctor may send a sample of your blood and urine to the laboratory for additional testing.


4. Discuss the test results and treatment options with your doctor. Based on your evaluation and test results, the doctor will recommend an appropriate treatment method to stop your recurring yeast infections.








5. Follow your doctor’s orders. Be sure to do exactly what your doctor tells you to, so you can stop the recurring yeast infections. Talk to your doctor about any questions or concerns you may have. Follow up if you continue to have the problem.
