Prostate Cancer Prevention

Prostate cancer is grows in the tissues of the prostate. In males, the prostate stores and secretes a fluid that helps make up semen, spermatozoa and seminal vesicle fluid. Prostate cancer most often affects older men. A proper diet helps in the prevention of prostate cancer.

Fatty foods

Diets high in fatty foods have been found to increase the risk of prostate cancer.

Omega-3

Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids can help prevent prostate cancer. Cold water fish like salmon, herring and mackerel are high in omega-3 fatty acids.

Green Tea

The antioxidants in green tea can help prevent prostate cancer. Green tea contains antioxidants like polyphenols that have been proven to help the body fend off disease.

Soy and Legumes

Estrogen is often used to treat cancer, and soy and legumes have plant-based chemicals (phytoestrogens) that act like estrogen.

Grains

Whole grains like brown rice and whole wheat help keep the body healthy to fend off disease. Grains found in alcohol, however, can have a harmful effect.
