HP Scanjet G3010 Instructions
Modern scanners are capable of accurately digitizing photographs or documents for personal use or distribution on the Internet. The HP Scanjet G3010 uses the HP Photosmart suite of software to provide a wide variety of functionality to users. This software allows you to scan, edit, print and distribute images or text documents over the Internet with a few simple steps. To do so, you will need to become familiar with the basics of operating your HP Scanjet scanner.
Instructions
1. Install the software that came with your scanner by placing the software CD in your computer's disc drive and following the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
2. Place your document or picture face-down on the glass bed of the scanner.
3. Press the Scan button on the front of your scanner. The button is labeled with an icon that looks like a small scanner. The HP Scanning dialog box should then appear on your computer screen.
4. Select the type of item you are scanning. The software will prompt you to select either Document or Picture. If you select Document, you will be prompted to select the document type (color, grayscale or black and white).
5. Press the scan button to complete your scan. Unless you specify otherwise, your scan will be saved to a sub folder on your computer called My Scans.
Tips Warnings
There are various quality options available for scanning. You may want to play around with those to achieve optimal scan results.
The scanning software also can email scans automatically. When on the scan dialogue screen, select Scan to and select e-mail to have your document or picture automatically sent to a chosen recipient.
