Disconnect and remove a Moen swivel spout using only a wrench.
Some kitchen faucet units come with a swivel spout that can turn side to side. Moen makes a variety of these faucets that require you to drill four holes into the sink frame during installation. (The fourth hole holds a separate spray spout that attaches to the faucet.) The water connections use nuts below the sink frame to hold the separate units in place. You can remove a swivel spout and replace the unit by unscrewing the nuts and disassembling the tube connectors.
Instructions
1. Turn off the water supply to the faucet by twisting the hot and cold valves under the sink clockwise until they tighten. Turn on the water faucet to ensure the water is turned off and to relieve pressure.
2. Loosen and remove the tubes from the hot and cold water knobs using a wrench. Look under the faucet, and attach the wrench to the nut where the tube meets the spout bottom. Turn the wrench one-half turn counterclockwise to loosen the tube, then disconnect it. Repeat this process for both knobs.
3. Turn the white plastic mounts located on the faucet shanks counterclockwise, and remove them. Repeat this step for both the hot and cold water knobs.
4. Disconnect the hydrolock connector and tube attached to the center swivel spout. Press down on the button located on the bottom edge, then pull it away.
5. Pull the swivel spout from the sink frame. The whole unit including the center spout and two side knobs are attached as one entity; you must replace this entire unit.
