Aprilaire 600 humidistat jumper posts?
:wall: Hi I have an aprilaire 600 I tried to check the water flow and found it dry so I removed the solenoid and tried it with 2 1.5 batteries to see if the solenoid would open it did! when i replaced it to the humidistat it would not work I made sure the blower is on and tried again no go! I callled my HVAC company and they said that 24 VAC is going in but not coming out I had it installed two years ago and am not sure it ever worked because the service guy told me that the white sediment that is on my replaceable wire mesh filter was there from the factory I thought it was calcium which to my eye meant it must have worked? anyway the company wants 212 dollars to replace just the humidistat!! highway robbery ! I noticed that there are five posts inside the humidistat and two black jumpers what is the correct positioning ? is there a wiring diagram for this unit and where can I get it ? please help I don't want to be held hostage by the outrageous pricing of this company thanks Bill Sferrino Brampton, Ontario Canada :wall: Those metal pads will have lime on it. and it's there to help hold water in place. So, who knows, it may of not been running since day one? Here is the install manual. I don't know how your system controls it? A50 or off the furnace board? hi thanks for the install manual ! i am not sure wether It is A50 or off the furnace board all i know is that it is wired to the blower moptor at 24 VAC and then to the humidistat from the humidistat to the solenoid valve I have tried the solenoid valve on test and can not get the valve to open I know this because I am holding the valve in my hand and blowing throught the tube that I have disconnected from the copper water feed when I put 3 volts with 2 AA batteries across the terminal and blow through the tube i hear the solenoid click and hear the air pass but when I reinstall to the humidistat it doesn't matter where the control is set even though i know the blower motor is running i know there is 24 VAC coming into the humidistat but nothing is coming out can the jumper placements have anything to do with this  The posts are because that stat is used for bypass 600 and power 700 humidifers. They don't use the post anymore. i can't find any old papers. If I remember right the 4 on the left should be covered. Could call a crrier wholesaler. they carry them. good luck.
