GE Glasstop Range-Broken Glass top

So my wife accidently dropped something from the overhead cabinet today and broke the glasstop to our range. It is a GE model # JBP90WV2. We are trying to decide whether or not to replace the whole range and sell the old one for parts, or to just replace the glasstop. So far, the cheapest I have found for the replacement top is about $230, and as high as $350, not sure why such a big difference. The unit is probably about 10 years old, but is in excellent shape and works really well. Anybody have any experience replacing one of these tops? I am very mechanically inclined and was just wondering if people think it is worth trying to fix as I can buy a kenmore at sears for $450, on sale til noon Saturday. I'd rather repair an item than replace it. You could save yourself over $200 by fixing this yourself. If the rest of the stove is in good condition, go ahead and fix it. I am going to order today, definitely the best price. Hopefully it won't be too much of a pain to replace. Thanks for the help. They aren't too hard to replace. Generally, all of the elements are attached to the bottom of the cooktop. There are some models out there that don't. Just be careful and pay close attention to how everything comes apart and you will be ok. Got the top in Friday. Installed it Sunday. Not a bad job at all. Took about an hour for everything and now looks like a new stove. Thanks for the help.
